Prices swing a lot depending on what the tank's made of and how big it is. Plastic (polyethylene) is still what most Egyptian homes use, mainly because it's light, quick to install, and cheap enough. A small 500L tank runs around EGP 1,900, and a 5,000L one gets up to about EGP 15,000.
Fiberglass costs more, but it holds up to weather better and lasts 15 to 20 years, so factories and bigger projects tend to go that route. Stainless steel is the priciest of the bunch. It's overkill for a regular house, but for a hospital or food facility that needs strict hygiene, it earns its keep, sometimes lasting past 25 years. Concrete tanks are a different animal entirely, built to order for villas and large sites, starting around EGP 15,000 depending on size and insulation.

A few things move the price: size, obviously, but also the material, how many layers it has, and whether it's insulated. The brand matters too, some manufacturers just cut corners. And don't forget delivery. Getting a tank shipped to Alexandria costs more than getting one delivered ten minutes from the factory.
