Plastic (Polyethylene) Tanks
This is what you'll find on most Egyptian rooftops. It's light, goes up fast, and won't rust, and a decent one lasts 10 to 15 years. Just check that it's virgin polyethylene and not recycled plastic dressed up as new, since that's what actually keeps your drinking water safe.
Fiberglass Tanks
Factories and bigger sites usually go with this. It shrugs off weather better and lasts 15 to 20 years, though you'll pay more for it and it weighs a lot more than plastic.
Stainless Steel Tanks
This is the cleanest option by far, which is why hospitals and large facilities lean on it for drinking water. It's also the most expensive of the four, though a well-kept one can outlast 25 years.
Concrete Tanks
Custom-built for villas and major projects, typically starting around EGP 15,000 and varying with capacity and the type of insulation used.
